This course has opened my eyes to the endless possibilities I can achieve with a BTec in Sport

WHY STUDY SPORT?

The Sport Btec course allows you to further develop your knowledge and understanding in team and individual sports. You will learn how to critically analyse and evaluate physical performance. You will also be able to suggest for yourself and others how they can improve individual and game play. Knowledge like this will you give you the confidence to taken on any coaching or sports management role.

 

The course also allows you to explore into the wider world of sport such as different types of fitness training and running sports events.

  • Project GYM - This series was created by fitness entrepreneur and influencer Jamie Alterton that documents his journey in building his own gym which is called GrenadeFit. The documentary gets down to the bare bones of someone building a fitness business from the ground up. 

  • The Class of 92 - A cinematic documentary detailing the rise to prominence and global sporting superstardom of six supremely talented young Manchester United footballers (David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phil and Gary Neville).

  • On Yoga the Architecture of Peace - Based on photographer Michael O’Neill’s book of the same name, this documentary traces the author’s 10-year journey through the landscape of yoga. Available on Netflix.

National Extended Certificate in Sport
(Equivalent to one A Level)

  • 4 units (3 mandatory) and 2 are external.

Mandatory content (83%). External assessment (67%).

 

National Diploma in Sport
(Equivalent to two A Levels)

  • 9 units (6 mandatory) and 3 are external

Mandatory content (75%). External assessment (45%).

 

National Extended Diploma in Sport 
(Equivalent to three A Levels) 

  • 14 units (10 mandatory) and 4 are external.

Mandatory content (78%). External assessment (42%).
