Duke of Edinburgh - Y12 Gold Award

Well done to the ten Year 12 students who completed their D of E Gold Practice Expedition to Wales in March.

Students spent four days in the Brecon Beacons, learning about map reading, trekking and camping. They also completed two days walking in the Beacons despite the wet conditions. Students showed great resilience and team spirit. Group 2 showed excellent organisation skills, and Group 1 demonstrated good walking fitness.

Group 1: Luis P, Jermaine CV, Ivan G, Vladimir G and Enes A.

Group 2: Aleksandra J, Gabrielly F, Aisha A, Maya CS and Dilara D.

The assessed expedition will take place in July. Students now need to look into what they will do for their residential section, as well as completing their skills, physical and volunteering sections.
