Skinners’ Academy’s purpose is grounded on our belief that every pupil at our school can achieve excellence and be the best they can, through access to a great education, support, nurture and their own curiosity and determination, regardless of their background or circumstances.
We recognise that racism still happens today in the 21st century, and that many in our community have direct experience of it. As governors, we re-affirm the Academy’s values which include equality and respect of others.
We do not and will not tolerate racism, discrimination or prejudice in any form.
We have always worked hard to achieve a diverse, inclusive and tolerant school community for all our pupils and staff. We are proud of Skinners’ Academy’s diversity and see it as a real strength. We use diversity principles in our recruitment practices and in developing our policies. We are committed to fostering a supportive environment within the Academy where everyone is included, is treated fairly, and is treated with respect.
We will support our staff, pupils, and community to have conversations about their experiences in our society today. We will support them in action to find solutions which address prejudice and inequality.
Everyone within the Skinners’ Academy community can be a part of creating real change and shaping and experiencing a future that is and feels equal for all.
